RINDGE, N.H. – Kevin Renaud cranked a pair of solo homeruns on Friday afternoon to lead No. 20 nationally-ranked Franklin Pierce to a 5-2 victory over the Southern Connecticut State University baseball team on the first day of the double-elimination portion of the Northeast-10 Conference Baseball Championships. Senior right fielder Paul Izzo (Cohoes, N.Y.) hit a solo homerun for SCSU, which will face elimination on Saturday morning. With the loss, SCSU falls to 34-16 and has its program-record winning streak snapped at 16 games. With the win, Franklin Pierce improves to 37-12.

RINDGE, N.H. – Due to the anticipation of questionable weather on Friday evening, the Northeast-10 Conference has announced time changes to Friday’s games in the Northeast-10 Conference Baseball Championships. Southern Connecticut State University and Franklin Pierce, originally scheduled to play at 4 p.m., will now play at 1 p.m. at Franklin Pierce’s Dr. Pappas Field.
