Men's Swimming
Prue closed his first season with the Owls in fine fashion, as he took home All-America honors in two events at the 2008 NCAA Championships. He finished fourth in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:49.45 and also placed 10th in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:50.55.
Women's Swimming
Frost continued to build her résumé as she won four national championships in as many days in the month of March and set three NCAA Division II records at the championships.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Megan Caporossi (Northford, Conn.) has been named to the 2008 Daktronics Northeast All-Region First Team, as selected by the region’s Sports Information Directors and announced this afternoon. Caporossi led the Southern Connecticut State University softball team to a third place finish in the Northeast-10 Conference regular season and to the semifinals of the conference tournament.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Two members of the Southern Connecticut State University women’s lacrosse team - senior Allison Kownacki (Orange, Conn.) and sophomore Lauren Karn (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) – have been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Lacrosse All-Academic Team.

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – A single to center field by freshman left fielder Andrew Babb (Hopkinton, Mass.) gave the Southern Connecticut State University baseball team the lead for good on Tuesday afternoon as it rallied from a 6-4 deficit with three runs in the top of the ninth inning to defeat Merrimack, 7-6, in the Northeast-10 Conference regular-season finale for both teams at Warrior Field. Mike Andre hit 3-for-4 and drove in four runs for Merrimack. With the win, SCSU improves to 34-15 (24-6 NE-10) and extends its school-record winning streak to 16 games, while Merrimack falls to 18-27 (13-17 NE-10) with the loss.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team appears in the “Others receiving votes” section of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) National Poll for the week of May 6, as announced Tuesday by the NCBWA. The Owls (33-15) collect votes at the national level for the first time this year after going 3-0 last week.
