NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Megan Caporossi (Northford, Conn.) of the softball team and senior Richard Jackson (New Rochelle, N.Y.) of the men’s track and field team have been named as the Comcast/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Month for May.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University women’s cross country team has been selected second in New England Runner magazine’s preseason poll. This is the highest preseason projection in program history. In addition, the publication selected sophomore Alasia Greibel (Bristol, Conn.) as the No. 3 female Division II cross country performer in the region.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University athletic department and Nike, Inc., in association with Billings Sports, have reached a sponsorship agreement that will supply all of the Owls’ 19 intercollegiate programs with athletic uniforms, footwear, apparel and equipment. Director of Athletics Patricia D. Nicol made the announcement earlier today.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut State University women’s cross country coach Chris Covert has announced that sophomore Kelsey Proctor (Guilford, Conn.) will serve as team captain during the 2010 campaign. Proctor captured All-Northeast-10 Conference laurels during her rookie season with the Owls last fall.

NEW HAVEN, Conn - Southern Connecticut State University women’s cross country coach Chris Covert has announced the team’s 2010 schedule. The Owls were ranked as high as third in the region last season. SCSU will participate in four competitions leading up to the Northeast-10 Conference Championships on Nov. 6. The season opener will be on Sept. 11 at the CCSU Blue Devil Invitational. View Schedule
