NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Sarah Darst (Tampa, Fla.) of the gymnastics team and freshman Tobin Carberry (Hamden, Conn.) of the men’s basketball team have been named as the Comcast/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Month for January.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut State University football coach Rich Cavanaugh has announced the first incoming student-athletes who have signed to play with the Owls for the upcoming 2010 season. The group of 11 is comprised of: Connor Bray (Glastonbury, Conn.), Dominick Diglio (East Haven, Conn.), Kyle Empey (Middleboro, Mass.), J.W. The Chargers captured the AFC West crown and, after a first round bye, will now host the New York Jets this Sunday at 4:40 p.m. EST.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut State University senior running back Jarom Freeman (Peekskill, N.Y.) led all rushers on the East squad on Friday night at the Valero Cactus Bowl. The Cactus Bowl, played annually in Kingsville, Texas, features the 'best of the best' NCAA Division II college seniors.

Two members of the Southern Connecticut State University football team – seniors Jarom Freeman (Peekskill, N.Y.) and Martin Manson (Bloomfield, Conn.) – have been selected to take part in this year’s game.
