NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Sarah Darst (Tampa, Fla.) of the gymnastics team and freshman Tobin Carberry (Hamden, Conn.) of the men’s basketball team have been named as the Comcast/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Month for January.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – In search of its seventh consecutive title, the Southern Connecticut State University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will host the 2010 Northeast-10 Conference Swimming and Diving Championships this weekend at the Hutchinson Natatorium. All the action will take place on Friday, Feb. 5, Saturday, Feb. 6 and Sunday, Feb. 7 with preliminary heats at 10 a.m., followed by timed finals at 6 p.m.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Matthew Sorena (Brookfield, Conn.) won two events on Sunday afternoon, but the Southern Connecticut State University men’s swimming and diving team was defeated by Connecticut College and Maine in a tri-meet at Lott Natatorium in New London, Conn. The men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s swimming and diving and gymnastics squad will all treat fans will a series of exciting events and giveaways. Admission is free to all home winter competitions.
