Farrier Earns 2008 Daktronics All-America Second Team
12/3/2008 11:15:49 AM
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – In addition to his 2008 Daktronics First-Team All-East Region and Northeast-10 Conference First-Team selections, Ancil Farrier (Los Bajos, Trinidad) was named to the 2008 Daktronics NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer All-America Second Team, announced on Dec. 2. Farrier was a key component of the Owl defense last season and was voted to the Second Team by the Sports Information Directors throughout the nation.
Primarily a defensive role for the Owls this year, Farrier registered three goals and two assists on the season, good enough for second on the team with eight total points. In addition, he was the only Owl to take a penalty kick on the season, and scored on the team’s only attempt. Farrier helped lead the Owls to seven defensive shutouts this season and limited opponents to a 1.04 goals per game average.
