Athletes of the Month
Women's Swimming
Frost continued to build her résumé as she won four national championships in as many days in the month of March and set three NCAA Division II records at the championships.
Men's Swimming
Prue closed his first season with the Owls in fine fashion, as he took home All-America honors in two events at the 2008 NCAA Championships. He finished fourth in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:49.45 and also placed 10th in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:50.55.

Allison Kownacki And Lauren Karn Named To Northeast-10 Women’s Lacrosse All-Academic Team
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Two members of the Southern Connecticut State University women’s lacrosse team - senior Allison Kownacki (Orange, Conn.) and sophomore Lauren Karn (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) – have been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Lacrosse All-Academic Team.

Kownacki carries a 3.84 grade point average in elementary education. A Second-Team All-Northeast-10 selection for her play during the 2008 season, Kownacki matched her own program record with 65 points (52 goals, 13 assists) and ranked among the league leaders in several statistical categories.

Kownacki finished her SCSU career with 130 points (113 goals, 117 assists) in just 28 games. She ranks first all-time in goals and points. For her collegiate career, Kownacki finished with 242 points (208 goals, 34 assists).

Karn, who carries a 3.83 grade point average in early childhood education, started all 15 games for the Owls in 2008. A defensive-oriented midfield, she scored one goal on the season.

Karn also ranked second on the team with 19 caused turnovers and was third with 34 groundballs.
