Athletes of the Month
Men's Swimming
Prue closed his first season with the Owls in fine fashion, as he took home All-America honors in two events at the 2008 NCAA Championships. He finished fourth in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:49.45 and also placed 10th in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:50.55.
Women's Swimming
Frost continued to build her résumé as she won four national championships in as many days in the month of March and set three NCAA Division II records at the championships.

Megan Caporossi Named To Daktronics Northeast All-Region First Team
Sophomore led the Owls offense this season
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Megan Caporossi (Northford, Conn.) has been named to the 2008 Daktronics Northeast All-Region First Team, as selected by the region’s Sports Information Directors and announced this afternoon. Caporossi led the Southern Connecticut State University softball team to a third place finish in the Northeast-10 Conference regular season and to the semifinals of the conference tournament.

The sophomore, who was selected at the utility position, led the Owls with a .349 batting average and nine home runs while splitting time as a third baseman, designated player and relief pitcher. She also contributed a team-high 33 runs batted in and 13 stolen bases on 14 attempts. Caporossi was the Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Year in 2007, and was previously honored this season with a spot on the Northeast-10 All-Conference and All-Academic teams. She was one of three players from the Northeast-10 Conference selected to the All-Region First Team.
