NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Megan Caporossi (Northford, Conn.) of the softball team and senior Richard Jackson (New Rochelle, N.Y.) of the men’s track and field team have been named as the Comcast/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Month for May.

Field Hockey Team Picked Sixth In Northeast-10 Preseason Coaches’ Poll

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team has been selected sixth in the 2008 Northeast-10 Conference preseason coaches’ poll. The Owls are coming off an eight-win campaign in 2007 and missed out on a spot in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament on the final day of the season.

This year’s squad features 12 returning student-athletes from 2007.

UMass-Lowell was selected as the preseason favorite to win the league.

The Owls open the 2008 season on Aug. 29 at 1 p.m. with a home game against Mansfield.
