Women's Track
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Yvonne Perkins (Danbury, Conn.) of the women’s outdoor track and field team and junior Diwani Augustine (East Hartford, Conn.) of the men’s outdoor track and field team have been named as the Comcast/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Month for May.

Men’s Soccer Team Tabbed For Third Place In Northeast-10 Coaches’ Preseason Poll
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University men’s soccer team has been selected third in the 2008 Northeast-10 Conference Coaches’ preseason poll. The Owls are coming off a campaign in 2007 in which they won their first-ever conference Tournament crown and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 30th time in program history.

In all, the team finished with a 14-2-5 mark a season ago. Eleven student-athletes are back from that squad, including one All-American, three All-New England selections and four All-Conference performers.

The 2008 season opener is on Aug. 28 against Dominican in a neutral site game at Franklin Pierce.
