NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University Athletic Department and the Office of Alumni Relations have announced that they will host ‘Girls and Women in Sport’ Day on Saturday, January 30 in conjunction with the Owls’ women’s basketball game against UMass-Lowell. This year’s event will also be supported by the Community Fund for Women and Girls, as well as Bruegger’s Bakery-Café.

The day will begin at 9:15 a.m. with registration and complimentary breakfast from Bruegger’s. Participants will then take part in a variety of sports at clinic stations from 9:45 a.m.-12 p.m. At the conclusion of the clinic station instruction, participants will then be treated to a complimentary lunch.

Following lunch, the participants will have an opportunity to meet with and receive autographs from all of the Southern Connecticut State University student-athletes in attendance as clinicians.

That session will lead directly into the women’s basketball game at 1:30 p.m.

All participants must wear sneakers and athletic clothing and bring a water bottle. Registration is limited to the first 250 female participants in grades 1-8 that have submitted signed both a registration form and an assumption of risk form.
