NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University athletic department is encouraging fans to bring new or gently used books, new or gently used coats and clothing or non-perishable food items to its two basketball doubleheaders in the month of November. The Owls will collect books for the New Haven Reads Community Book Bank, coats and clothing for area organizations and food for the Connecticut Food Bank at the basketball contests against Bridgeport (women) and Felician (men) on Nov. 15 and the Nov. 24 doubleheader against Pace. Fans can donate items on game day at the display inside Moore Field House. Those who can’t make it to the games can stop by the Athletic Communications Office, Room 210 in Moore Field House, to make a contribution.
