NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Two members of the Southern Connecticut State University men’s soccer team have earned Eastern Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) laurels for the 2009 campaign, announced on Wednesday by the league office. Sophomore Paul Templeton (Saltcoats, Scotland) was named to the ECAC First Team, while Yoni Feldman (Ramat-Gan, Israel) was selected the ECAC Rookie of the Year.

In his second season with the Owls, Templeton finished with seven goals and three assists, leading the team with 17 total points. In addition to his ECAC First Team selection, Templeton also received Northeast-10 Conference and Daktronics All-Region accolades. With his seven goals, Templeton earned his second top 10 conference finish in as many years.

Feldman served as a dominate figure in the Owls’ midfield this fall, participating in 16 games, including 13 starts. He completed his first season with four goals and one assist for nine total points. Furthermore, three of Feldman’s four goals were game-winners for the squad. In addition to his ECAC Rookie of the Year selection, Feldman was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Second Team.
