Lee and Wolf Named To Northeast-10 Conference Softball All-Academic Team
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Coming off an NCAA Tournament appearance and 33-win campaign, two members of the Southern Connecticut State University softball team – senior Christina Wolf (Newtown, Conn.) and junior Khristle Lee (Aztec, N.M.) – have been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Softball All-Academic Team.

To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: participated in at least half of the team’s competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; achieved a 3.3 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 All-Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.

It’s the second straight selection to the squad for Wolf, who served as a team captain in 2009. A physical education major with a 3.62 grade point average, she ranked among the Northeast-10 leaders in batting average, RBI, doubles, total bases and hit by pitch. Wolf was tied for the league lead in hit by pitch (9). She was also fourth in the league in doubles (13), sixth in RBI (33), 14th in total bases and 31st in batting average (.299). Wolf led the Owls with a .382 on-base percentage and also slugged four homers on the year.

Lee, a biology major with a 3.85 GPA, started all 49 games for the Owls this past year. She finished seventh in the NE-10 in total plate appearances, was eighth in at-bats, eighth in stolen bases (14) and 10th in runs scored (30). For the year, she batted .270 with two home runs and 12 RBI. Lee was second on the team in runs and third in hits with 43.
