NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Megan Caporossi (Northford, Conn.) of the softball team and senior Richard Jackson (New Rochelle, N.Y.) of the men’s track and field team have been named as the Comcast/Southern Connecticut State University Athletes of the Month for May.

Logan Lentz Selected To Northeast-10 Conference Women's Basketball All-Academic Team
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After a stellar year in the classroom and on the court, Southern Connecticut State University sophomore guard Logan Lentz (Chambersburg, Pa.) has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Women’s Basketball All-Academic Team. Lentz is coming off a season in which she ranked among the league leaders in minutes played, assists, assist/turnover ratio and scoring. In addition, she carries a 3.94 grade point average as an exercise science major.

To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: participated in at least half of the team’s competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; achieved a 3.3 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 All-Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.

A team captain, Lentz started all 27 games for the Owls in 2008-09. She averaged 11.6 points and 3.7 assists per game. Lentz ranked second in the NE-10 in minutes played (37.22), eighth in assists, 12th in assist/turnover ratio (1.11) and 24th in scoring. She led the Owls in assists, ranked second in steals and was third in scoring.
