NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University women’s swimming and diving team received eight first place showings on Tuesday afternoon, as the Owls defeated Queens College at Lott Natatorium. The final score of the competition was 161-97.

Senior Cody Hall (Parker, Colo.), juniors Jennifer O’Neil (Stratford, Conn.), Meghan Fay (Branford, Conn.) and Laura DeGore (Lindenhurst, N.Y.), sophomores Nicole Huerta (Santo Domingo, D.R.) and Kayla Wainwright (Norwich, Conn.) and freshman Amanda Thomas (Oakville, Conn.) all registered first place finishes for the Owls.

Junior diver Lauren Sasso (Orange, Conn.) also captured first place in the one-meter diving event for the Owls.

The Owls return to action on Feb. 5 when the squad hosts the Northeast-10 Conference Championships. The event will begin at 4 p.m. at the Hutchinson Natatorium.
