NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Former Southern Connecticut State University standout John Ball has signed with the Ohio Vortex of the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL-Pro), announced on Wednesday by the organization’s front office. Ball, one of the elite players in the indoor game, has over 13 years of professional experience.

Ball, who was also a member of the MLS’s Chicago Fire (1999), played four years at SCSU from 1992-95. He was part of two National Championship teams – as a freshman and as a senior – and earned All-Conference honors as a junior and senior.

Most recently, Ball has endured great success with the Rochester Rhinos of the United Soccer League's First Division (USL-1). Last season, Ball finished tied for fourth in the league with six assists. In addition, after six seasons with the club, he ranks 10th in regular season points, ninth in regular season goals and ninth in games played for the Rhinos all-time leaders.
