NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut State University field hockey coach Kelley Frassinelli has announced that seniors Ann Farrier (Belfast, Maine) and Jennifer Peterson (Canton, Conn.) will serve as team captains for the 2010 season.
Farrier will serve in this role for the third straight season. A three-year starter, she led the Owls in assists (six) and ranked among the team leaders in points in 2009. Farrier enters her senior season within reach of the school’s all-time assist record. She has also been lauded with All-Northeast-10 Conference, Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll and National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad honors previously in her career.
Peterson has been one of the mainstays of the defensive unit throughout her career. Also a three-year starter, she will once again look to guide the Owls in the back this fall. She is a multiple honoree for the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll and National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad thus far in her career.
The Owls open the 2010 season on Sept. 4 with a home game against Shippensburg.
