Women's Basketball Team Releases 2010-11 Schedule

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut State University women’s basketball coach Meghan Brown has announced the team’s 2010-11 schedule. The Owls are coming off a 13-win season last winter and will look to mold together a strong group of returners with talented newcomers. The season opener is on Nov. 12 against Bridgeport at the Pace Tournament.
Following the opener against Bridgeport, the Owls take on Queens the following day. The team then returns home for its first conference contest against LeMoyne on Nov. 17. The month closes with a road game at Pace on Nov. 23 and a home game against AIC on Nov. 28.
The Owls start out the month of December with two road games – at Adelphi (Dec. 1) and Saint Rose (Dec. 4). They will host Assumption on Dec. 7 before returning to the road to take on Franklin Pierce on Dec. 11 and Bloomfield on Dec. 19. The Owls will return home on Dec. 30 against Molloy before heading into the new year.
January will consist of nine games for the Owls, with four of them being played at home. The road matches will be at New Haven (Jan. 2), Stonehill (Jan. 5), St. Michael’s (Jan. 11), Southern New Hampshire (Jan. 22) and UMass-Lowell (Jan. 29). The four home games will be against Bentley (Jan. 8), Franklin Pierce (Jan. 15), St. Anselm (Jan. 19) and Merrimack (Jan. 25).
February begins on the road when the Owls head to LeMoyne on Feb. 2. They will then return home for back-to-back home games on Feb. 5 against New Haven and Feb. 8 against Pace before heading back on the road to take on AIC on Feb. 12. The Owls then have two more consecutive home games against Adelphi (Feb. 16) and Saint Rose (Feb. 19) against before finishing up the regular season on Feb. 23 at Assumption.
The Northeast-10 Playoffs will begin on Feb. 27.
