Men's Soccer Team Announces 2010 Schedule

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut State University men’s soccer coach Tom Lang has announced the team’s 2010 schedule. The Owls are coming off a successful season in which they qualified for the NCAA Tournament, reached the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament final and finished with a 14-5-2 mark. The Owls will look to secure the 32nd NCAA tournament berth in school history this fall. The season opener will be Sept. 2 against Felician College at the University of Bridgeport Tournament.
The month of September features eight matches, just two of which are home. The Owls will play at the University of Bridgeport Tournament against Felician College (Sept. 2) and Caldwell College (Sept. 4). The team will then be on the road against St. Anselm (Sept. 8), Assumption (Sept. 14) and St. Michael’s (Sept. 18). The Owls return home to face New Haven (Sept. 22), but then head back on the road to play Stonehill (Sept.25). The final game in September will be home against Saint Rose (Sept. 28).
October will consist of eight matches, with five played at Jess Dow Field. The away games will be at Franklin Pierce (Oct. 2), LeMoyne (Oct. 12) and UMass-Lowell (Oct. 16). The five home games are against Bridgeport (Oct. 6), Bentley (Oct. 9), American International (Oct. 20), Southern New Hampshire (Oct. 23) and Merrimack (Oct. 29) in the regular season finale.
The Northeast-10 Tournament will be held from Nov. 2- 7. The NCAA Tournament will begin on Nov. 11 and continue through Dec. 5.
