Lentz is coming off a season in which she ranked among the league leaders in minutes played, assists, assist/turnover ratio and scoring. NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut State University women’s cross country coach Chris Covert has announced the team’s 2009 schedule. The Owls will take part in four competitions leading up to the Northeast-10 Conference Championships, which will take place on Oct. 24. The year kicks off on Sept. 12 with the CCSU Blue Devil Invitational in New Britain. Timothy Steiskal (Naugatuck, Conn.), who recently completed his freshman season as a member of the Southern Connecticut State University men's swimming and diving squad, captured the Lake Waramaug Triatholon in Warren, Conn. on Friday night. He completed the half-mile swim, 12-mile bike ride and 5-kilometer run in a time of 1:05.42. Steiskal's performance was featured in Saturday's edition of the Republican-American. NEW HAVEN, Conn. – For the third year in a row, the Southern Connecticut State University athletic department has ranked among the top-20 percent of all Division II institutions in the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup rankings. Capped by a spring season which saw NCAA participation from the softball and men’s and women’s outdoor track and field squads, the Owls finished the year ranked No. 56 overall out of more than 300 eligible schools. NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Southern Connecticut State University fans, alumni, employees and students continue to see a new look as they enter Moore Field House. Earlier this week, the final touches were put on a new display recognizing all inductees into the SCSU Alumni Sports Hall of Fame. The display is situated on the second floor of the Field House, adjacent to the primary spectator entrance. The latest improvements come on the heels of an array of projects that were completed in the fall, including: signage signifying the 10 NCAA team championships collected in SCSU history, action photos depicting all of the current intercollegiate programs and a spectacular display chronicling the entire athletic tradition and history of SCSU athletics.
